First Lady of journalism Dorothy Thompson giving an interview in 1941 about World War II Political alliances between US and Russia. Dorothy was a prolific corespondent during the 30’s and 40’s. 1931 she interviewed Adolf Hitler and said, “He is formless, almost faceless, a man whose countenance is a caricature, a man whose framework seems cartilaginous, without bones. He is inconsequent and voluble, ill poised and insecure. He is the very prototype of the little man.” Later when Nazism was at it’s peak she was the first jounalist expelled from Germany.
